About Christine

Praised for her vocal clarity, crystalline coloratura, and abundant musicality, Lebanese-American soprano Christine Honein has appeared on stages across the United States and the Middle East, performing both concert repertoire and opera. Most recently, she sang the role of Sœur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites and was featured as a soloist at the Nantucket Chamber Music Festival, where she performed works by Ned Rorem and Howard Frazin.

In Fall 2025, Christine will make her company debut with St. Pete Opera as Mrs. Hayes in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. Previous roles include Maria in Eklund Opera’s production of West Side Story, Dalinda in Ariodante, and Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea.

On the concert stage, Christine is passionate about performing new works by her colleagues and friends, and she is especially committed to highlighting the music of Lebanese composers. In Spring 2025, she curated and presented Whimsical Melodies, a chamber program at the University of Tampa. The previous year, she was a guest artist at the University of Wyoming, where she offered her recital program A Musical Voyage: From Seville to Beirut and led a masterclass for voice students.

Born in Lebanon to Lebanese parents, Christine spent her formative years in Beirut and Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University and a Master of Music from the University of Colorado Boulder. Through her work, Christine aspires to use music as a means of expression, connection, and cultural exchange, bridging the rich traditions of East and West.
